Detailed Description

Great Oyster Bay is home to some of Australia's freshest and finest seafood. Located on Tasmania's beautiful east coast the pristine waters, fresh air and ample sea life make for great oyster faming conditions. Freycinet Marine Farm offers a unique farm gate experience, suppling freshly farmed produce direct to you at their shop front on Coles Bay Road.

Oyster Bay Tours partner with Freycinet Marine Farm to bring you an intimate and authentic oyster farm visit and taste experience. Departing daily from the marine farm shop, hop on board as our local oyster farmer and guide drives you down to the marine farm. There you will be greeted with a cosy pair of waders, ready to put on and wade out into the crisp waters of Freycinet Peninsula. Hear, touch and see the way we farm our delicious oysters from wee little babies to the juicy delights served up at the shop. Harvest some oysters fresh from the rack, then head back onto land to watch an expert shucking demonstration, with the option to don a shucking glove and give it a go yourself.

There's nothing better than enjoying a fresh harvest of oysters and cooked mussels, except when it's paired with a hand picked award wining local riesling. So kick back, breathe in the fresh sea breeze, take in the spectacular farm backdrop and distant Hazards, while you enjoy this once in a life time culinary experience.
